In my heart I knew that leaving was the wrong thing for me to do. I still loved him and knew in my heart <em><strong>there had to be answers<\/strong>.<\/em> I sought all the help I could find.<\/p>\n<p>When none of this helped, I started looking <a title=\"Beyond Marriage Counselling\" href=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/\">beyond traditional marriage counselling advice<\/a> at two areas of people management skills where the experts couldn&#8217;t say to just to cut people out of your life. I began studying corporate leadership training &amp; parenting skills, where at last I found the steps which finally brought peace to our home.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>People were still saying I was stupid not to leave. But I became even more\u00a0determined that just maybe <strong>there\u00a0was\u00a0a way<\/strong> I could bring peace to our home.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em><strong>You must understand I am not saying the fighting was all Steve\u2019s fault. Back then I was focused on Steve being the problem but was about to come face to face with my role in our sad &#8216;dance&#8217;.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Eventually, I learned my role was called <a href=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/codependent\/\">codependency<\/a>, which explains why some people are repeatedly attracted to <a href=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/the-narcissist\/\">people with a narcissistic view of life<\/a>.
