Gilderoy&#8217;s character (played by<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kenneth_Branagh\"><span class=\"s2\"> Kenneth Branagh<\/span><\/a>), authored numerous books (all about himself and his own adventures) and also entertained hoards of adoring female fans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While his lies and eventual\u00a0cowardice did put lives at risk and\u00a0he did wipe people&#8217;s memory (if\u00a0their memories did not serve his\u00a0fantasy portrayal of himself)\u00a0<a title=\"Signs of Narcissism\" href=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/the-narcissist\/signs-of-narcissism\/\">showing no empathy or remorse\u00a0for his actions<\/a>, his main motivation was to be loved (rather than feared) and his only sadism, perhaps his bad habit of relentlessly boring people.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b><i><a href=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/narcissist\/narcissism-spotting\/attachment\/narcissism-blog-angelican-huston\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1410\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1410\" src=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Narcissism-Blog-Angelican-Huston-200x300.png\" alt=\"Narcissism-Blog-Angelican-Huston\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Narcissism-Blog-Angelican-Huston-200x300.png 200w, https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Narcissism-Blog-Angelican-Huston-100x150.png 100w, https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Narcissism-Blog-Angelican-Huston.png 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>Baroness\u00a0Rodmill De Ghent<\/i><\/b> in Andy\u00a0Tennant&#8217;s 1998 movie <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0120631\/\"><span class=\"s2\">&#8220;Ever After&#8221;<\/span><\/a>. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Anjelica Huston brought to life a sensational portrayal of the female narcissistic character. \u00a0More sadistic than Gilderoy\u00a0certainly, while also more <a title=\"Signs of Narcissism\" href=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/the-narcissist\/signs-of-narcissism\/\">abusive,\u00a0controlling and conniving<\/a> &#8211; but still not a psychopathic killer like\u00a0Joran van der Sloot (who journalists also\u00a0dubbed a narcissist) or Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0120631\/\"><span class=\"s2\">&#8220;Ever After&#8221;<\/span><\/a> is a moving version of\u00a0Cinderella (which I highly\u00a0recommend if you haven&#8217;t seen it).<\/span><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/narcissist\/narcissism-spotting\/attachment\/narcissism-blog-matt-ross-as-hunter-just-visiting\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1411\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1411\" src=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Narcissism-Blog-Matt-Ross-as-Hunter-Just-visiting-185x300.png\" alt=\"Narcissism-Blog-Matt-Ross-as-Hunter---Just-visiting\" width=\"185\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Narcissism-Blog-Matt-Ross-as-Hunter-Just-visiting-185x300.png 185w, https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Narcissism-Blog-Matt-Ross-as-Hunter-Just-visiting-93x150.png 93w, https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Narcissism-Blog-Matt-Ross-as-Hunter-Just-visiting.png 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 185px) 100vw, 185px\" \/><\/a>Another great actor playing <strong>The Despicable Narcissist<\/strong>\u00a0is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0743671\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Matt Ross<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0as <b><i>&#8216;Hunter<\/i><\/b>&#8216; &#8211; in the movie <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0189192\/\"><span class=\"s2\">&#8220;Just visiting&#8221;<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Another gem of a movie you really shouldn&#8217;t miss, particularly to watch as his wife learns to stand up to him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is a fairytale style story &#8211;\u00a0but the cheating and exploitative\u00a0side of Hunter&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/definition-narcissistic\/n-personality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">narcissistic\u00a0personality<\/a> is all too close to\u00a0reality.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0189192\/\"><span class=\"s2\"> &#8220;Just visiting&#8221;<\/span><\/a> is also a side\u00a0splitting comedy that is suitable for children.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/narcissist\/narcissism-spotting\/attachment\/narcissism-blog-miss-piggy\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1412\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1412\" src=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Narcissism-blog-Miss-Piggy-229x300.png\" alt=\"Narcissism-blog-Miss-Piggy\" width=\"229\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Narcissism-blog-Miss-Piggy-229x300.png 229w, https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Narcissism-blog-Miss-Piggy-114x150.png 114w, https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Narcissism-blog-Miss-Piggy.png 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 229px) 100vw, 229px\" \/><\/a>For comic relief, Steve&#8217;s choice is\u00a0always <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Miss_Piggy\"><span class=\"s2\">Miss Piggy<\/span><\/a> &#8211; but before you\u00a0laugh &#8211; how about those karate\u00a0chops and <a title=\"Signs of Narcissism\" href=\"https:\/\/narcissismcured.com\/thencmarriage\/the-narcissist\/signs-of-narcissism\/\">the depth and breadth of her put-downs<\/a> (when anyone comes between her royal pigginess\u00a0and what she is after)!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We have all wondered for years why Kermit puts up with her, but then she can be so sweet and does have <i>star quality<\/i> . . .\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">But Miss Piggy a psychopath? . . . \u00a0 \u00a0I don&#8217;t think so.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n<h3 class=\"p1\">Lazy Criminal Profiling Only Benefits Criminals<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It was Sam Vaknin (whose credentials have been discredited) that first confused Narcissistic Personality Disorder and psychopathy (now called anti-social personality disorder). <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">These are in fact quite different. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The psychopath tends to be a powerless and socially isolated individual whose motivation is getting people to fear them so they can feel they have some power in their life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A person with NPD on the other hand primarily wants to be loved &#8211; but doesn&#8217;t know how to express or deal with their own guilt and shame, and so projects these onto other people.
